Barbuto Brooklyn: Reviews & Ratings
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Just visited the newly opened Barbuto Brooklyn at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, and it exceeded all expectations. The space feels modern yet still carries the warmth and soul that makes Barbuto so iconic. The food was fantastic from start to finish. The Crudo was bright and refreshing, the meatballs were exactly as comforting and flavorful as I remembered, and the roast chicken is a must. We also loved the focaccia and every dessert we tried. It’s such a treat to now have Barbuto in Brooklyn—I can already see this becoming a regular spot. Five stars without hesitation!
Had an amazing night out at Barbuto. The hospitality and service was unmatched—particularly from the assistant general manager Mariela and our server Albano. This restaurant has only been open for a few weeks, and it’s clear that they are at the top of their game. We had the focaccia, meatballs, and kale salad to start and it was the perfect appetizer for 2. We followed by sharing the honeynut squash gnocchi—a delicious seasonal dish recommended by Mariela. Then we had the duck breast and the chicken, with sides of roasted potatoes and broccoli rabe. The meat was tender, juicy, and perfectly cooked. The chicken is quite a large portion for 1, so it makes a great sharing option or leftovers for later. Finally we shared two desserts: the pear crostata and pistachio cake. Both excellent. We left happy and full. Will definitely be back.
We had a great dinner at Barbuto last night - - sharing old memories and creating new ones! Travis (the amazing sommelier), Gavin and the team took such great care of us. As a party of six we shared dishes family-style and while I could go on about each dish, the kale salad was to die for and the pistachio cake - delicious!! Leave room for dessert. We will be back!
What can I say. Superior food, even more superior service. A lovely and highly welcomed addition to the dumbo/ bk heights neighborhood where at times can feel like a bit of a food desert. I had a really wonderful experience at Barbuto bk tonight. The space is absolutely gorgeous and they had the doors open to the park which heightened the already beautiful ambiance. From the hostess who placed me to a gorgeous table with a gorgeous view of the park, to my server who was so passionate about the menu, to of course the incredible sommelier Travis who just continuously checked in on my meal and experience, gave me a fantastic tutorial on different wines and was just supremely lovely to speak with - Barbuto BK will be a neighborhood gem and I am confident a neighborhood staple. Cannot wait to visit again soon and bring more friends with me for next time around. And truly, huge shoutout to Travis - you can tell when someone brings in love and warmth to a restaurant space and to its staff. He’s a special one. And with his lead and style, he’s what’s going to transform this space to a beloved neighborhood gem. It brings all the cozy west village feels. Excited for the road ahead, Barbuto. Welcome to Brooklyn!
Love the location and the food is excellent. The pizza uvo for me is the star of the brunch menu. Very nice looking restaurant and the staff is friendly and courteous. If you're at the foot of Brooklyn bridge come by and enjoy the view and the food.
The place itself feels relaxing and very pleasant — lots of live green plants, soft sunlight that makes it feel like a greenhouse, and great background music. The service is attentive and calm. The food is average. The fish tartare wasn’t marinated enough for my taste — it lacked a bit of salt and spice. Other dishes were fine but nothing memorable. Around 4–5 pm it’s pretty quiet, which makes it perfect for an early dinner.
In A Nutshell: -Barbuto is a really good place to warm up & enjoy a great breakfast while taking in the view of the Brooklyn Bridge. -Their Montauk Shrimp & Grits tasted freshly caught & the added poached eggs are a nice touch. -The American Breakfast features several large, crispy bacon, crunchy sourdough, a flat hand sized hash brown & a couple of eggs your preferred way. Overall, the service here is outstanding, especially Tarren. She represents the city extremely well! Tarren it UP!!
An absolute A+. My wife and I walked the Brooklyn Bridge to view the Sunday night sunset, which was awesome. Little did we know we would have an equally amazing dinner. Walking around to different restaurants my wife picked a new one - which we love to do. For dimmer, my wife had the gnocchi and I had the Rigate. Before we ordered, however, we needed to pick wine. Having walked almost 10 miles, my brain was done and I needed help. The waiter, also terrific service and awareness, asked if I would like to talk with their sommelier, and I said yes. Special note here, it isn’t always automatic that a waiter recognizes to call out that the restaurant has a sommelier. Good call on his part. And over came Travis. I told him what my wife and I would have for dinner and we’d like a versatile red wine to go with either meal. He recommended a fantastic non DOCG Sangiovese that paired spectacularly with the food. Simply amazing food, ambiance, and service. My wife and I will be coming back and we highly recommend this resistant. Tell Travis we sent you. Jeffery
